I'm new! Where do I start?

FAQIf you've never done pole dancing before, we recommend starting with Beginners 1. We recommend registering for an 8 week course as we can then team you up with students of the same level.

Alternatively, we encourage you to attend a casual class – these are typically mixed levels (including absolute beginners) and you can start any time!

Is it safe?

Our Pole Fitness team is focused on fitness and safety. Our Instructors are qualified and professional and are continuously updating correct teaching and safe training methods in accordance with the industry standards and requirements. As a member, our studio operates under the codes of practice of Fitness Australia and The International Pole Federation.

For safety, please make sure that you have no moisturiser and/or jewellery on when coming to class.

What do I need to wear?

Something you feel comfortaible in, shorts and a top will do, you don't need anything fancy. Just be sure that you don't wear long sleeves or pants, otherwise grip may become difficult.

What do I need to bring?

Bring a little towel to clean down your pole and some water. Most of all, bring your enthusiasm and a smile... we are going to have a great time!

How much are your classes?

You can find all our prices on the prices page – just have a look at the class description, and know whether you're interested in a 8 week block or a casual class.

How do I book my place?

  1. Check out the class descriptions to see which classes you feel like coming along to.
  2. Check the timetable for times.
  3. Call, email or visit us at the studio.

Are classes female-only?

We greatly encourage guys at Pole Fitness Cairns because this sport is great fun for anyone.

I've never done this before. What can I expect?

We are very used to people coming in for the first time and we always remember what it was like for us. So don't worry you are in great hands we will make sure you feel right at home.

Each class consists of a warm up, the main section of the class where we learn new moves or build on already mastered material, and a cool down at the end.
